Want to gain muscle and lose fat in a way that’s sustainable? If you’ve struggled to balance nutrition, fitness, and a busy lifestyle, welcome aboard. Or maybe you’re an athlete who loves to train hard and lift heavy, but struggles to eat enough, recover well, and give your body the rest it needs. Welcome aboard, to you too!
Whether your goal is to build strength, change your body composition, improve your performance, or simply learn how to train and fuel yourself well, Ravenwell is here to help you build a sustainable approach to fitness—one that works with your life, not against it.

My name is Mia Schmitz, I started Ravenwell Fitness in August of 2026. Fitness has been part of my life for the last 10 years. I started out in golf in middle school, competitive mountain biking in high school, then I started weightlifting in 2024, and I joined a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym in January of 2026.
I know what it feels like to want to change your body and not quite know how to get there. I’ve lost 45 pounds, learned how to manage my nutrition, fallen in love with strength training and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and discovered—sometimes the hard way—that doing more isn’t always doing better.
For a long time, I thought progress meant pushing harder, training more, and eating less. Discipline was the golden rule. As my goals became more demanding, however, especially while balancing lifting and BJJ, I learned how quickly discipline can turn into bad recovery and overtraining. I had to learn to pay attention to what my body actually needed: enough food to perform, enough recovery to adapt, and training that supported my life instead of consuming it.
That experience changed the way I think about fitness.
I don’t believe health should require you to build your entire life around a diet or a workout plan. Training should make you stronger and more capable for the things you love to do, nutrition should support your goals without making food something you fear or obsess over, and progress should be something you can sustain long after the initial motivation wears off.
This is the philosophy I have woven into Ravenwell Fitness. Whether your goal is losing fat, building muscle, becoming a stronger athlete, or simply feeling more capable in your own body, I want to help you understand the why behind what you’re doing—and build habits you can actually carry with you.
